What We Believe

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is all we need for instruction on how to live a Christian life. We have no creed books as we only teach from God’s Word; the Bible.

We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. That He lived on this earth, that He died on a cross and was buried, and that He rose from the grave conquering sin and death.

We believe that we take hold of that victory through our own baptism. When you are immersed, baptized, you take part in the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus. You die to your old sinful self, are buried in the water of baptism, and then are raised to walk in newness of Life (Romans 6:1-11).

We believe that baptism is essential to salvation. It is our part in taking hold of the Grace of God. Jesus commanded baptism (Mark 16:16) and the New Testament examples we have of salvation all include baptism (Acts 2:38).

We believe in partaking of the Lord’s Supper (Communion) on the first day of the week. This memorial feast was established by Jesus before His death. We partake of it to remember His sacrifice for us and the hope that it brings for eternal life.

We believe in singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. We do not use instruments in our worship. We are told to “sing and make melody in our hearts to God” (Ephesians 5:19). The only “instrument” we use is our hearts.

We believe that the only way to heaven, is through Jesus Christ. One must obey the Gospel message of Jesus in order to be saved. Then they must continue to live their life for Christ and for God.
