About the church of Christ at Rocky Mount
We are an independent congregation of the Lord's people that does not belong to, nor consider ourselves, a denomination.  While we consider ourselves non-denominational, we might more accurately say we are pre-denominational.  We endeavor to restore the church that you read about after Christ’s sacrifice in the New Testament, before denominations were born. 

Churches of Christ believe that the bible is God’s inspired word and that it is the total authority for the church.  We have no other books that give us doctrine or rules. As such, we believe that we should order our worship, our lives and our following of God’s will in accordance with the New Testament (which we Christians live under) and not by man’s ideas or doctrines.  Ask us a question and you will get a scriptural answer.  We do not add to or take away from God’s word.  We wholeheartedly believe in a genuine study and understanding of scripture and encourage study outside of the regular church assembly.  Our members come to be very familiar with their bible and thus with God’s will.

The Rocky Mount congregation was formed in 1986, due to the prayers and vision of a number of faithful brethren and the support of the Lake Drive church of Christ in Vinton, Virginia and the Dalraida church of Christ in Montgomery, Alabama.  Over the years the congregation has met in a number of rented facilities but never allowed the absence of their own building slow, or deter them in carrying out the great commission to reach the lost with the Gospel of Christ.  As a result many souls were led to obedience.


Through the blessing of our Lord, and the financial assistance of many,  the congregation has been able to obtain property and build a permanent meeting place.
